Charles Henry Berridge was born about 1897.3 Charles travelled first class leaving Dover on 11 November 1922 bound for the West Indies aboard the ship Oranje Nassau. He gave his last address in the UK as 55 Oak Village, GospelOak, NW5 and his permanent address as in British Guiana.3 He married Gwendoline Greathead, daughter of Thomas Henry Greathead and Alice Louisa Thalia Gainfort.1 Charles and Gwendoline arrived in London on 30 June 1927 having travelled first class aboard the ship Inanda from their home in British Giana.4 Charles and Gwendoline returned first class on the same ship Inanda, leaving London on 16 September 1927. Charles was described as a grocer. They gave their last UK address as 21 Mincing Lane, London EC.3 Charles, a grocer, his wife Gwen, two year old David and little Sybil aged 10 months travelled from Liverpool leaving on 26 April 1930 on board the ship Amakura bound for Demerara in British Guiana. They gave their last address in the UK as 13 Sitterton Bere Regis, Wareham in Dirset.3 Charles and Gwendoline travelled aboard the ship Ingria with their children David, Sybil and ten month old Michael. They travelled first class.5 Charles travelled on the ship Ingoma leaving London on 16 August 1934 bound for Demerara. He travelled first class, describing himself as a grocer and his UK address as Kingsbere, Kings Road, Blandford in Dorset.3 Charles, Gwendoline arrved in Plymouth with their children David, Sybil and Michael aboard the ship Van Rensselaer on 27 April 1939 from their home in British Guana.6 Charles Henry Berridge, often took the family to Britain from Guiana to visit relatives. They arrived at the dock to make the return journey but before boarding, Charles, who was a religious man, said that they were not to get on the boat. This was no small undertaking as it meant they would not be able to return to their home within the forseeable future. He said that God had informed him not to get on the boat. That boat was sunk by the German navy shortly after it departed.7

James Simpson was born in Scotland.2 James joined the American army despite being a Scotsman, as when it came time for him to do his national service he saw that the American army paid more. He had been born in America, but his mother had moved them back to their homeland of Scotland due to the Great Deppresion.3 James served in Vietnam and Korean wars and suffered post traumatic stess disorder afterwards and would spend nights painting fantastic pictures. He was described as a fantastic character. He was entitled to a military funeral, which he insisted upon and, prayed it would rain on the parade. It poured.3 Jim joined the American Army and was joined by Sybil when she gained her American citizenship.2 He married Sybil May Berridge, daughter of Charles Henry Berridge and Gwendoline Greathead.1 He died in 1994 in USA.2

Horace Fossey was born on 12 July 1907.1 He was the son of Robert Fossey and Sarah Smith. He died on 14 March 1997 aged 89.1
