He was baptised on 8 May 1881 in St Peter and St Paul, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, his father was an engraver and the family lived in Cuthbert Bouce.4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 13 Cuthbert Road, Nether Hallam, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Francis Rice Greathead Frank was a scholar.5 He married Hannah Blake, daughter of George Blake and Mary Ann Gott, on 6 May 1899 in St John the Baptist, Owlerton, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by John Lewis Greathead and Mary Ann Maunder.1,6 Frank was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 at 4 Cleveland Place, Nether Hallam, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.7 Frank was living with his parents Frank and Annie at 63 Fairfield Road when he was admitted as a student to Neepsend Senior Mixed Council School on 26 September 1907. Frank was a Forge presse Furniture.12 Frank died in 1947 in 28 Walkley Lane, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, It is believed that Frank committed suicide.1,13,14 Frank was buried on 23 April 1947 in St Mary, Walkley, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.15

He was baptised on 13 April 1904 in St Philips, Shalesmoor, Yorkshire, England, his father was a furnace man and the family lived at 9 Robert Street.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 28 Walkley Lane, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Frank Greathead.5 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 28 Walkley Lane, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Frank Greathead Ernest worked in the railway traffic yard at C&W Department in Sheffield for the Great Central Railway.6 He married Constance Olgar Clark, daughter of Wilfred Clark and Dorothy Ramsden, in 1925 in Ecclesall Bierlow, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.1,7 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Ernest was listed as living at 28 Wardlow Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, with his wife Constance.
