     Myrtle ... was born about 1876 in Iowa, USA, Her father as born in Maine and her mother Iowa.1 She married Thomas Greathead, son of William Edward Greathead and Mary Ann Davis.1 An unknown person was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 January 1920 in Wadena, Fayette County, Iowa, USA, Thomas is described as a general farmer and is living with Myrtle.2 Her husband Thomas died on before 1930 in USA He was a Republican, but was not interested in politics to any great extent. He was a man well thought of by his neighbours, having always led a quiet, honourable life and tended strictly to his own affairs.1 In the census of 2 April 1930 in Fayette County, Iowa, USA, she was listed as the mother in law of Laurence Fennell who was described as a 40 year old labourer doing odd jobs. His wife was listed as Mabel aged 32. They had a son James D Fennell aged four years.3

     William Gransbury was born in 1851 in Houghton le Spring, Durham, England.2,3 He married Alice Ann Greathead, daughter of Mark Greathead and Elizabeth Lumley, in 1896 in Chester le Street, Durham, England.1 William was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in Low Row, Waldridge, Chester le Street, Durham, England, William was a coal miner, a hewer. Alice's brother Anthony was lodging with them. William's older brother John also a coal miner hewer, aged 59. John was listed as a widower.4
