     Isaac Ditchburn was born in 1843 in Chester le Street, Durham, England.1,2,3 He was the son of William Ditchburn and Jane Greathead.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at 91 Middle Row, Sherburn, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of William Ditchburn.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Seven Stars, High Street, Sherburn, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Curley Isaac was a coal miner.5 He married Sarah Bainbridge, daughter of Robert Bainbridge, on 10 December 1864 in Register Office, Durham, England, Robert Bainbridge and Thomas Sarsfield witnessed the marriage. Both Isaac and Sarah gave their addresses as Brandon. Isaac was described as a caol miner and signed the register with a X.3,6 Isaac was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Sunniside, Crook, Durham, England, Isaac was a miner.7 He died on 8 September 1880 in Seaham Colliery, Easington, Durham, England, in the Seaham Colliery Disaster.
