     George Tunley was born in 1845 in Oswestry, Shropshire, England.1 He was the son of William Tunley and Mary Thomas. He was baptised on 7 August 1845 in Oswestry, Shropshire, England.1 He married Margaret Williams, daughter of Edward Williams, on 22 September 1867 in Parish Church, Oswestry, Shropshire, England, The ceremony was reported in the Oswestry Advertiser of 25 September 1867 and performed by Rev C J Binns. George was a cabinet maker.1,2,3 George and Margaret clearly had a serious diagreement which made him place the following in the Oswestry Advertiser and Montgomeryshire Mercury, Wednesday 5 Jan 1870 states. I, George Tunley will not be responsible for any debts my wife Margaret Tunley may contract after this date, she having absconded. Beatrice Street, Oswestry, dated 29 December 1869 signed G Tunley.4 George was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in 57 Rodney Street, Tranmere, Cheshire, England, George was a cabinet maker.5
