In the census of 5 April 1891 in Gant Cottage, Oswestry, Shropshire, England, he was listed as the grandson of Richard Tunley.5 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Norley Lane, Norley, Cheshire, England, he was listed as the son but he was living with his sister in law Jane Rogerson aged 23 a lady living on her own means.6,1 He married Alice Lightfoot in 1914 in Northwich, Cheshire, England, They lived at Acton Bridge, Northwich, Cheshire.7,8 He was buried in St Mary's Church, Weaverham, Cheshire, England.8
