     Dorothy Ada Hosegood was born on 21 May 1900 in Weybridge, Surrey, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Arthur Hosegood and Ada Jane Farnfield.1 She was baptised on 10 June 1900 in St James, Weybridge, Surrey, England, the family lived in Weybridge and her father was a dairyman.3 She was the daughter of Arthur Hosegood and Ada Jane Farnfield in the 1901 census in Smiths Cottages, St Mary's Road, Walton on Thames, Surrey, England. Dorothy was referred to as Dolly and was only 11 months old.4 She was the daughter of Arthur Frederick Rooke and Ada Jane Rooke in the 1911 census in 3 Lawnsmead, Wonersh, Surrey, England.5 It is understood that Dorothy's first job was at the Powder Mills, in the cordite ‘re-makes’ section, She described the manufacture of cordite, which was composed of gun-cotton, vaseline and acetone. Chopped up for hours in a machine like a pastry-mixer, it was formed in the press-houses into something resembling macaroni, then being racked for drying, and later packed into long boxes and loaded into trams for transit.6 She married Francis Hubert Skinner, son of George Edward Skinner and Jane Moseley, on 10 November 1928 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. Francis was a locomotive engineer and his father George Edward Skinner was a Gardener. Dorothy's father Arthur had died and was a hairdresser.7,8 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Dorothy was listed as living at 17 Lawnsmead, Wonersh, Surrey, England, with her husband Francis. Francis was a railway fireman living with his wife and two others.9 Frank and Dorothy had no children.10 Her husband Francis died in August 1988 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.11 She died in 1991 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.12

Alfred was a labourer in the powder works.5 He married Ellen Meates, daughter of George Meates, on 1 October 1898 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Frederick John Blythman and Louisa Elizabeth Cooper. Alfred was a Gardener and hs father also Alfred was a tanner. Ellen's father George Meates was deceased.6,7 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Old Toll Gate, Bramley, Surrey, England.      Frederick Chennell was born circa 1872 in Shalford, Surrey, England.1 He married Jane Turrell, daughter of Henry Turrell and Mary Edwards, on 23 October 1897 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Allan Batten and Alice Chennell White. Fred was a Mechanic and his father William Chennel White a carter. Jane's father Henry Turrell was a tanner. Both Fred and Jane lived in Shalford.2,3 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England. Frederick was a general labourer living with his wife and son.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 21 Hastings Buildings, Tower Bridge Road, Bermondsey, London, England. Frederick was a hide hairer in the leather trade living with his wife and son.5
