Henry was a tanner.5 He married Mary Kathleen Woods on 8 October 1892 in Holy Trinity, Bramley, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Frances Woods and Clara Sabina Woods. Henry was a tanner and his father also called Henry was a carter. Mary's father John Woods was a farmer. Both Henry and Mary gave Bramley as their address.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Summersbury Tannery, Shalford, Surrey, England. Robert was a labourer in the tanyard living with his wife and children.8 She died in 1908 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.9,10 She was buried on 1 February 1908 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 362 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh.9
