Frederick was an artist.4 He married Louise Jane Gibson in 1883 in Easthampstead, Berkshire, England, after the banns were read in St Michael in Highgate being Frederick's parish and in Crowthorne in Berkshire for Louise on 4, 11 and 18 March 1883.5,6 He received the probate of the estate of William Peter Bodkin on 22 May 1900.7 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 98 Fellow Road, Hampstead, London, England. Dorothy C Benjamin was born circa 1886. She married Gilbert Edwin Bodkin, son of Frederick Edwin Bodkin and Louise Jane Gibson, in 1924 in Marylebone, London, England.1 Gilbert and Dorothy sailed from Southampton on 27 May 1938 on 'Balmoral Castle' bound for South Africa. They gave their address as 3873 Finchley Road NW3, the ships manifest they planned to return to UK.2 Gilbert and Dorothy left Port Said in Egypt on board 'Almanzora' arriving in Southampton on 28 March 1947. They stated they had been resident in Mauritius. Gilbert was a civil servant and gave his address in the UK as c/o Colonial Office, Downing Street in London.3 Gilbert and Dorothy travelled first class on 'Capetown Castle' leaving Southampton on 21 August 1947 bound for South Africa.
