     Mary Tunley was born in 1827.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Tunley and Mary Hughes. She was baptized on 8 July 1828 in Ellesmere, Cheshire, England.2,3 She married Joseph Benjamin Beard, son of John Beard, on 26 August 1858 in Baptist Chapel, Oswestry, Shropshire, England, Baptist marriage, therefore different from several other Tunley events which are Wesleyan Methodist. Witnesses are Irwin Oliver and Elinor Arthur Beard. Minister is Edward Wilkes.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Willow Street, Oswestry, Shropshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Joseph Benjamin Beard.4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Willow Street, Oswestry, Shropshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Joseph Benjamin Beard.1

He married Mary Tunley, daughter of Thomas Tunley and Mary Hughes, on 26 August 1858 in Baptist Chapel, Oswestry, Shropshire, England, Baptist marriage, therefore different from several other Tunley events which are Wesleyan Methodist.      Thomas Tunley was born on 21 January 1835 in Frankton, Shropshire, England.1,2,3 He was baptized on 22 January 1835 in Whittington, Shropshire, England.3 He was the son of Thomas Tunley and Mary Hughes. In the census of 7 June 1841 in Sweeney, Shropshire, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Tunley.1 He married Rebecca Brown on 3 February 1856 in Brierley Hill, Sedgeley, Staffordshire, England.2,4 Thomas was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Kingswinford, Staffordshire, England, Thomas was a labourer with horses living with his wife and three daughters.5 Thomas was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in 44 Bricklin Street, Dudley, Staffordshire, England, Thomas was described as a labourer.6 He died in 1874 in Brierley Hill, Sedgeley, Staffordshire, England, Thomas had worked as a labourer. His death is registered on the GRO indexes as being aged 50.2,7
