He requested to be buried in Wonersh churchyard, he asked for one shilling to be paid at the end of three months to his kinsman James Franks. He left his property Gaston in Ewhurst to his brother Robert.2 His estate was probated on 4 September 1740 to his brother, Robert Franks.2

     Charles Franks was baptised on 20 July 1754 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Robert Franks and Mary Wilson. He married Sarah Brown on 11 August 1781 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2 He married Sarah Balchin on 3 November 1822 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Keanne and Harriet Hooke. The wedding was announced in the Oxford Journal of Saturday 16 November 1822, which stated "At Wonersh near Guildford, Surrey. Mr Charles Franks aged 70 to Miss S Balchin, a girl of 18."3,4 He left a will on 2 December 1826 in which he stated that was he was a carpenter and gave bequeaths to his wife and many of his children and grandchild Eliza.5 He died on 21 December 1826 in Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 72.6,5 He was buried on 28 December 1826 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.6 His estate was probated on 5 May 1827 to his widow Sarah.5 His wife Sarah died in 1847 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.7,8
