Henry was a general labourer living with his wife and children, his daughter Mary was listed as an idiot.6 There is a lovely picture of James in his uniform with his mother Caroline Shrubb née Mercer.7 She died in 1932 in Horsham, Sussex, England, The 1911 census records Henry as a widower, but he did not complete the sheet. I can find no other death for Constance than this one in 1932.8

Thomas was a brickmaker.5 Thomas enlisted in Guildford as a Private in Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire) Regiment 8419 for 3 years army service and 9 years in the Reserve Service. He was described as 5 foot 6 inches tall, weighed 120 pounds, with a chest measurement 34½inches. His complexion was dark, with grey eyes and brown hair. He saw service at home, India and France.6,7 He was the son of John Shrubb and Louisa Shrubb in the 1911 census in Wood Street, Guildford, Surrey, England.
