Thomas was a brickmaker.5 Thomas enlisted in Guildford as a Private in Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire) Regiment 8419 for 3 years army service and 9 years in the Reserve Service. He was described as 5 foot 6 inches tall, weighed 120 pounds, with a chest measurement 34½inches. His complexion was dark, with grey eyes and brown hair. He saw service at home, India and France.6,7 He was the son of John Shrubb and Louisa Shrubb in the 1911 census in Wood Street, Guildford, Surrey, England.      Cyril W Capon was born on 1 August 1914 in Farnham, Surrey, England, his mother's maiden name was Trowbridge.1,2 He married Marjorie Alice Shrubb, daughter of Thomas Charles Shrubb and Alice Collins, in 1940 in Windsor, Berkshire, England.3 He died on 18 April 2009 in England at age 94.1 He was buried in St Michael and All Angels Cemetery, Camberley, Surrey, England.1

     Annie Shrubb was born in 1877 in Alfold, Surrey, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Henry Shrubb and Caroline Mercer. She was baptised on 7 October 1877 in St Nicholas, Alfold, Surrey, England, her father was a labourer.3 She was the daughter of Henry Shrubb and Caroline Shrubb in the 1881 census in Wildwood Cottages, Alfold, Surrey, England.4 She married Frank Jenner, son of James Jenner and Sarah Lucas, on 26 March 1910 in St Nicolas, Cranleigh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Walter Jenner and Annie Louise Cousell. Frank was a labourer like his father James and Annie's father Henry.5,6 She was the daughter of Henry Shrubb in the 1911 census in Ivalk Farm, Baynards Seaton, Horsham, Sussex, England.7 Her husband Frank died in 1940 in Surrey, England.8 She died in 1952 in Cranleigh, Surrey, England.9 She was buried on 10 July 1952 in St Nicolas, Cranleigh, Surrey, England, her address was given as THe Retreat, Cranleigh.10
