     George Kemm was born on 16 October 1898 in Woolwich, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Edward William Kemm and Eliza Jane Mabbs. He was the son of Edward William Kemm and Eliza Jane Kemm in the 1901 census in 235 Southampton Street, Camberwell, London, England.3 George enlisted into the Rifle Brigade on 10 May 1917 He stated he was 18 years 3 months old, 5 foot 5½ inches tall with a chest measurement of 33 inches. His father was William Kemm from Cgarlton Village. His service number was S/35248. He spent four days in the Military Hospital Chisledon Camp suffering from bronchitis in 1917 and six weeks in 1918 with a leg wound. He was discharged on 17 March 1919 after serving 1 year 322 days.4 He married Rosina Mabel Cherry in 1920 in Brentford, London, England.5 He died in July 1984 in Bexley, Kent, England, at age 85.6

     Gerald Noel Gabell was born on 4 December 1907 in Bromley, Kent, England.1 He was the son of Douglas Phillimore Gabell.2 Gerald was educated at Westminster School and had served in the Artists Rifles during the Second World War and as an infantry officer served in Iceland and other parts of the world.3 Gerald joined English Electric in 1936 as assistant secretary and was appointed secretary in 1949.4 He married Constance Mary North, daughter of Henry Charles North and Kathleen Martin, on 3 June 1939 in St Mary, Beddington, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read on 5, 12 and 19 March. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Charles North and Katherine Gabell. Gerald was a chartered secretary and lived at 44 Friends Road in Croydon. His father Douglas Phillimore Gabell was deceased and had been a dental surgeon. Constance was a civil servant and lived at 61 OsmondGardens, Beddington. Her father Henry Charles North was a rubber manufacturer.5 During 1940-41 Gerald served in the 49th (Polar Bear) Division in Iceland and later as a company commander at the Infantry Training Centre, Berwick on Tweed.4 He returned to English Electric in 1945 and moved to Stafford where he remained until transferred to London in 1958.4 Gerald and Conne lived in 1959 in Tangley Close and it is reported to have lived there until Gerald's death.6 Gerald was elected president of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries in 1967. He retained his interest in the Institute after his retirement serving on various committees. He was well known as the company secretary of English Electric and continued after the amalgamation with General Electric in 1968.3 One of Geralds voluntary activities was acting as honorary treasurer of the Surrey Association for the Elderly for about six years. Each Christmas he helped with the Christmas card projects for the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for the disabled at Leatherhead.3 Gerald had been an active member of the Wonersh Church serving the Parochial Church Council. After he retired Gerald became Chairman of the Diocesan Board of Finance for three years.7 He died on 25 June 1976 in Tangley Close, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 68 following a heart attack, he had been a keen gardener, enthusiastic of many games, including soccer, rugger, hockey, rowing, fencing, fives, squash racquets and tennis. But of late his principal hobby was dinghy sailing.8,9,10 The church was filled for his funeral service on 30 June. The Bishop of Dorking, the Right Reverend Kenneth Evans, the Archdeacon of Surrey and the Archdeacon of Dorking with the Rev D Hedges, Vicar of Blackheath and Chilworth, were present.3 His estate was probated on 13 August 1976 in Winchester. His estate was valued at £22,085.9
