Benjamin Jacobs was baptised on 1 February 1733 in Mitcham, Surrey, England, his father was listed as James Jacobs.1 He married Mary Street, daughter of Philip Street, on 17 July 1755 in St Mary, Merton, Surrey, England, Benjamin was from Merton a whitster aged 22. Mary was from Wonersh. The marriage took place after a licence had been issued on 16 July. Her father had given his consent as she was a minor aged 19. Peter was a farmer from Wonersh. Benjamin's father John Jacobs of Mitcham was also a whitster.2,3 Benjamin signed his will on 10 March 1777, It was witnessed by Richard Lloyd, John Maybank and Elizabeth Maybank.2 He died circa 1783. His estate was probated on 25 September 1783 in London before Worshipful Andrew Coltee Ducarel Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert.2
