     William Franks was born circa 1757.1 He was the son of Robert Franks and Mary Wilson. He married Sarah Worsfold, daughter of Richard Worsfold and Elizabeth Sparkes, on 12 June 1793 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after a licence was issued on 12 June 1793. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Wakeford and Elia Street.2,3 He witnessed the marriage of John Henry Boughton and Sarah Killick on 6 May 1813 in St George, Hanover Square, London, England.4,5 William made a will dated 6 January 1827 to which he added a codicil on 7 January 1828.5 He died on 29 May 1829 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1,6 He was buried on 4 June 1829 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 193.1 His estate was probated on 19 November 1829 in London.7 The Franks family are buried under a common double gravestone.6
