James was employed in an estate at Albury and later in a tanyard near Bramley until he lost his job in 1926 and had to move West to Exeter to find work at another tannery.8 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register James was listed as living at 48 Park Street, Crediton, Devon, England, with his wife Mary. James was a general master shopkeeper.9 He died in 1962 in St Austell, Cornwall, England.10

William George Head was born in 1883 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 He was baptised on 11 March 1883 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England. He was the son of William Thomas Head and Annie Mowbray. He was the son of William Thomas Head and Annie Head in the 1891 census in Tannery Cottages, Shalford, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of William Thomas Head and Annie Head in the 1901 census in Summersbury Tannery, Shalford, Surrey, England. William was an engineer's apprentice.3 He married Mabel Turk on 8 June 1908 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after the banns were read. The ceremony was witnessed by James Wallace Head and Lily Hotchley. William was a blacksmith living in Ryde Isle of Wight. His father William Thomas Head was a tanner. Mabel's father William Turk was a coachman and deceased.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 2 Malford Villas, Bondary Road, Newbury, Berkshire, England. William was a general blacksmith living with his wife and surviving daughter with one boarder. It would appear they had two children and one died at birth so may not have even been registered.5 There is a lovely picture of the family taken in 1914 at the rear of Shalford Tannery Cottages.6
He received the probate of the estate of William Thomas Head on 22 April 1927.7 He died in 1936 in Reading, Berkshire, England.8
