     George Edwards was born circa 1842. He was the son of Charles Edwards. He married Ellen Edwards, daughter of Jabez Edwards and Harriett Smithers, on 28 June 1862 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Hall and Eliza Edwards. George was a labourer like his father isted as James Edwards? Ellen's father was listed as Charles Edwards and a labourer. Have the fathers names been written incorrectly? Both George and Ellen were minors.1 He died in 1867 in Wonersh, Surrey, England, from tuberculosis, sadly just before his son Charles was born.2 He was buried on 24 May 1867 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.1

She was a daughter of William Brown and Ellen Edwards in the 1871 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England.2 She married David Smithers, son of William Smithers and Harriot Simmonds, on 22 August 1885 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Brown and Mary Remnant. David was a powder maker living in Albury. His father George Smithers was a labourer. Lillie's father George Edwards was a labourer.3,4 She was the wife of David Smithers in the 1891 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England. David was a powder maker living with bis wife and young daughter.5 She died in 1898 in Blackheath, Surrey, England.      Charles Edwards was born on 16 July 1867 in Blackheath, Surrey, England, sadly his father had died a month earlier from tuberculosis. He was the son of George Edwards and Ellen Edwards. He was the son of William Brown and Ellen Edwards in the 1881 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England. Charles was an agricultural labourer.1 He married Jane Pledge in 1902 in Hambledon, Surrey, England, they had eight children. Charles Sydney, Edward William, George Reginald, Alice Susan, James, John, Louis and Grace Adelaide. None of them lived in Wonersh.2 His wife Jane died in May 1925 in Thursley, Surrey, England.2 He died in 1965 in Petersfield, Hampshire, England, He died while living with his son Charles and his wife at Drift Road, Clanfield, Portsmouth in Hampshire.2

He was the son of George William Ayears and Julia Phoebe Ayears in the 1891 census in 6 Rose Street, Rochester, Kent, England.2 He was the son of George William Ayears in the 1901 census in 88 Constitution Road, Chatham, Kent, England. Charles was a bricklayers apprentice.3 He married Laura Payne in 1903 in Medway, Kent, England.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 82 Arden Street, Gillingham, Kent, England. Charles was a coal porter living with his wife, daughter and brother.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Charles was listed as living at 62 Skinner Street, Gillingham, Kent, England, with his wife Laura. Charles was incapacitated.6 He died on 31 May 1950 in 2 Skinner Street, Gillingham, Kent, England, at age 66.7,8 His estate was probated on 25 July 1950 in London to John Henry Ayears and William Frederick Ayears both bricklayers. His effects were valued at £585 3s 10d.8
