George Edwards was born circa 1842. He was the son of Charles Edwards. He married Ellen Edwards, daughter of Jabez Edwards and Harriett Smithers, on 28 June 1862 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Hall and Eliza Edwards. George was a labourer like his father isted as James Edwards? Ellen's father was listed as Charles Edwards and a labourer. Have the fathers names been written incorrectly? Both George and Ellen were minors.1 He died in 1867 in Wonersh, Surrey, England, from tuberculosis, sadly just before his son Charles was born.2 He was buried on 24 May 1867 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.1

Lillie's father George Edwards was a labourer.3,4 She was the wife of David Smithers in the 1891 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England. David was a powder maker living with bis wife and young daughter.5 She died in 1898 in Blackheath, Surrey, England. He was the son of William Brown and Ellen Edwards in the 1881 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England. Charles was an agricultural labourer.1 He married Jane Pledge in 1902 in Hambledon, Surrey, England, they had eight children. Charles Sydney, Edward William, George Reginald, Alice Susan, James, John, Louis and Grace Adelaide. None of them lived in Wonersh.2 His wife Jane died in May 1925 in Thursley, Surrey, England.2 He died in 1965 in Petersfield, Hampshire, England, He died while living with his son Charles and his wife at Drift Road, Clanfield, Portsmouth in Hampshire.2
