     Bessie Emily Elliott was born on 29 October 1909 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 She was the daughter of Leonard Harry Elliott and Emily Hill. She was baptised on 28 November 1909 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2 She was the daughter of Leonard Harry Elliott in the 1911 census in Hope Cottage, Wonersh Common, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 She married Leonard Balchin, son of Albert Balchin and Lilias Georgina Head, on 5 August 1933 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.4 Leonard and Bessie Balchin were living in 1935 until 1962 with her brother Ronald Elliott certainly in 1938 in Oakdene, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Bessie was listed as living at Oakdene, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England, with her husband Leonard. Leonard was a general labourer.6 She died in 1978 in Surrey, England.7
