     Marmaduke William Huitson was born on 25 August 1879 in Thornaby, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of Richard Allan Huitson and Eleanor Allen. In the census of 3 April 1881 in 9 Westwood Terrace, Thornaby, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Richard Allan Huitson.3 He married Kate Barr Malcom in 1900 in Middlesborough, Yorkshire, England.4 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 14 Prospect Place, Thornaby, Durham, England, he was listed as the son in law of Robert Malcolm who was a ship plater. Marmaduke was a brass finnisher.5 He died on 3 March 1916 in Flanders, Belgium, aged 36.1,2 Pte 22622 M W Huitson was buried in Popperinge New Military Cemetery, Plot 1 Row F Grave 24, Popperinge, West Vlaanderen, Belgium, There is a picture of Edith by her brother Marmaduke's grave.1,6
