George Greathead

George a yeoman from Easby signed his will on 29 August 1746 being of sound mind and body and giving bequests of money to his daughter in law Anne Greathead, grandson Wiilliam Greathead. Also to his daughter Jane Greathead who also got his feather bed and some household goods. His daughter Elizabeth King was given twenty pounds to be paid to her upon the death of his sister EIsobel King of Richmond. His daughters Mary Greathead, Isaobel Greathead and Anne Housemanwere each to receive one shilling.1 His estate was probated on 13 December 1746 his son George was sole Executor and the final inventory of goods and chattels totalled £110 including seven cows, four oxen, eleven beasts two years old, eight beasts one year old, seven calves, two mares and two horses, nine sci=ore and four sheep.1
