     Errol Devereux Lancelot Shaw was born about 1917.1 He was an M.A, (Cantab) Teacher at King Edward High, Salisbury, Rhodesia. He was also an author and served during the war as Gunner 1095785 11 (Honourable Artillery Coy) Regt., Royal Horse Artillery. He was the son of Sidney Milner Shaw and Helen Mary Charleson. He died on 3 March 1945 in Germany Errol died of dysentery on a forced Stalag 344 march into Germany, of prisoners from camps in Poland, in front of the advancing Russians.1 He was buried in Grave 11.B .14 Berlin, 1939-45 War Cemetery, Brandenburg, Germany, This is in the district of Charlottenburg, 8km from city centre.1

     Joseph Whitaker was born on 14 February 1825 in Howarth, Yorkshire, England.3,2 He was the son of Jonathan Whitaker and Betty ...3 He was baptised on 30 March 1825 in Howarth, Yorkshire, England.2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Uppertown, Howarth, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Jonathan Whitaker.4 He married Mary Ann Ambler in 1855 in Keighley, Yorkshire, England.1,5 Joseph was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Uppertown, Oxenhope, Yorkshire, England, Joseph was a carrier and farmer living with his wife and small daughter. His niece Hannah age 19 and nephew Jonathan age 24 were staying with them.6 Joseph was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Uppertown, Howarth, Yorkshire, England, Joseph was a carrier farmer of 23 acres employing 1 man. He was living with his wife and six children and nephew Edwin a carrier aged 29.7 He died on 12 June 1879 in Uppertown, Howarth, Yorkshire, England, aged 54.3,2,8 He was buried in St Mary the Virgin, Oxenhope, Yorkshire, England, in grave 32.
