Frederick Jacob Porritt

     Frederick Jacob Porritt was born on 3 January 1903 in Hartlepool, Durham, England, Interestingly his year of birth changes on many differnt documents National Register in 1939 states 1904, GRO on death registration says 1902 but his birth registration which I tend to believe says 1903.1 He was the son of Charles Porritt and Rebecca Spriggs. In the census of 2 April 1911 in 158 Hart Road, Hartlepool, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Porritt.2 He married Elizabeth Armstrong in 1928 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Frederick was listed as living at 187 West View, Hartlepool, Durham, England, with his wife Elizabeth. Frederick was a turner in engineering at the shipbuilders and a Special Constable living with his wife Elizabeth.4 Frederick died in February 1985 in North Cleveland, Durham, England, aged 82.5

     Elizabeth Armstrong was born on 20 May 1905. She married Frederick Jacob Porritt, son of Charles Porritt and Rebecca Spriggs, in 1928 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.1 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Elizabeth was listed as living at 187 West View, Hartlepool, Durham, England, with her husband Frederick.
