Elsie Maud Banthorpe was born on 15 July 1906 in Dennington, Suffolk, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of George Banthorpe and Clara Stopher.1 She married Harry Spearman Flemming in 1929 in Hartismere, Suffolk, England.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Elsie was listed as living at 87 College Road, Blyth, Suffolk, England, with her husband Harry. Harry was a Contractor's Managing Clerk living with his wife and widowed father in law and three others, possibly including his two children Jane and William. Harry was a foreman in the Framlingham Brigade.5 The will of George was proved by Elsie Maud Flemming his daughter on 7 November 1941.6 Her husband Harry died on 25 June 1958 in 8 Badingham Road, Framlingham, Suffolk, England, aged 52.7,8 The will of Harry was proved by Elsie Maud Flemming his widow on 18 August 1958.7 Elsie died in February 1990 in Waveney, Suffolk, England, aged 83.9

Reuben Meadows was baptised on 7 October 1860 in St Mary, Dennington, Suffolk, England.1 He married Elizabeth Banthorpe, daughter of William Banthorpe and Letitia Bloomfield, on 3 November 1883 in St Mary, Denninggton, Suffolk, England, the ceremony was witnessed by William Banthorpe and Mary Meadows. Reuben was the son of George Meadows and Mary Ann Fisk.2,1 Reuben was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in Saxted Road, Dennington, Suffolk, England, Reuben was an agricultural labourer living with his wife and three children.3 Reuben was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in Vyces Road, Framlingham, Suffolk, England, Reuben was a corn miller and carter living with his wife and children.4 Reuben was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Vyces Road, Framlingham, Suffolk, England, Reuben was a miller and carter living with his wife and four of their children.
