He was baptised on 19 April 1791 in Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, England.2 He was a Gentleman farmer in Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, England. He married Ann Haynes on 23 August 1821 in Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, England.3,4 Jonathan was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 June 1841 in Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, England, Jonathan was living with his wife and daughter.      Arthur Birks was born on 6 March 1854 in Scrooby, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Jonathan Roberts Birks and Charlotte Hutton. In the census of 7 April 1861 in 56 Cottage Road, Kimberworth, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Jonathan Roberts Birks Arthur was a scholar.4 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Everton, Nottinghamshire, England, he was listed as the nephew of Robert Hutton Arthur was an apprentice.5 He married Fanny Blake, daughter of Charles Blake and Elizabeth Mary Parham, on 30 December 1878 in Congregationalist Church, Kent Road, Portsea Island, Hampshire, England, Witnessed by Capt Blake and Charlotte Blake. Fanny Birks née Blake
