     Kathleen Sample died on 25 October 2010 in Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Surrey, England, She still had her house in Barnett Close, but had temporarily moved to Pilgrim Wood Care Home where she suffered a massive stroke and was taken to Royal Surrey County Hospital.1 Her body was cremated on 17 November 2010 in Guildford Crematorium, Godalming, Surrey, England.1

She married Robert William Avenell, son of Thomas Avenell and Ellen Trimmer, in 1923 in Guildford, Surrey, England.1 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Minnie was listed as living at 67 Combe Road, Godalming, Surrey, England, with her husband Robert. Robert was a railway shunter and an ARP Warden.2 She died in 1968 in Surrey, England.3

She married George Avenell, son of Edward Avenell and Caroline Ann Durant, on 12 May 1913 in St Nicolas, Guildford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Augustus Finds and Ada Avenell. George was a contractor and his father Edward Avenell was a carter. Jane was a cook and her father James Nye was a wood merchant.1 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Jane was listed as living at Hazel Cottage, Portsmouth Road, Guildford, Surrey, England, with her husband George.      Albert Garnet Downey was born on 18 October 1882 in Southwark, London, England.1 He was baptised on 26 November 1882 in St Andrew, Lambeth, London, England, his father was a printer.2 He married Maud Anne Simmonds, daughter of George Joseph Simmonds and Ann Norris, on 12 June 1910 in St Bartholomew, Southwark, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Howe and Florence Brigden. Albert was a coller cutter, his father John Downey was a printer. Maud's father George Joseph Simmonds was deceased but had been a warehouseman.3 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 25 Monnow Road, Bermondsey, London, England.
