     Stewart Leonard John Henshaw was born on 2 January 1935 in Edmonton, Buckinghamshire, England, his mothers maiden name was Buckley.1 He married Diane L Hounslow in 1972 in Harrow, London, England. From 1981 Stewart and Diane lived until Stewart's death in Conifers, Grantley Avenue, Wonersh Park, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2,3 He died on 21 August 2011 in Conifers, Grantley Avenue, Wonersh Park, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 76.4 His body was cremated on 14 September 2011 in Guildford Crematorium, Godalming, Surrey, England, and his ashes were buried in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery. A bench has been erected in the Cemetery to his memory.4

He was baptised on 10 April 1892 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, the family lived in Chilworth and his father was a labourer.2 He was the son of Peter Simmonds and Flora Matilda Simmonds in the 1901 census in Wonersh Common, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 Peter and Flora emigrated on 10 May 1907 sailing from London to Quebec on board the ship Pomeranian with their children Jonathan, Arthur, Hubert, Bessie and Annie.4 Hubert enlisted on 20 September 1914 into the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force giving his date of brith as 10 february 1891, his father Peter Simmonds living at 53 Smith Street, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
