She was baptised on 12 July 1925 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, her father was a telephone linesman.2 She married Charles Hockley, son of Thomas G Hockley and Florence Elizabeth Laws, on 25 January 1947 in St Martins, Blackheath, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by H W Howard, T Hockley, A E Ayears and R Ayears. Charles was a soldier, his father Thomas Hockley was a grocer but deceased. Eva was a canteen assistant, her father Albert Ernest Ayears was a GPO Engineer foreman. Both of them gave their address as Laurel Cottage, Eva's parents home, the couple stayed there until around 1953 when they moved to 3 Pine Cottages in Blackheath until at least around 1960.3,4 I can find no trace of any children for Charles and Eva although both were godparents to any of Eva’s siblings children.5 Her husband Charles died on 9 February 1995 in Burls, Blackheath Lane, Blackheath, Surrey, England.5 Eva is always known as Billie Hockley and wrote her memories in the November 2022 Parish Magazine.6

Presumably they had been visiting Nellie's parennts.6 Nellie and Jocelyn sailed into Liverpool on 4 March 1935 on board Montcalm from Canada. Off to stay with her parents in Chertsey.3 Nellie and Jocelyn sailed from Southampton bound for Canada on 11 May1935 on board Montcalm giving Nellie's parents address again in England.4 Nellie arrived in Southampton on 17 September 1937 on board Montrose.3 Nellie was once again visiting her family and left to go back to Canada from Southampton on 20 October 1937 on board Montrose.4
