     Edmund Victor Lee Hill was born on 24 May 1893 in Shamley Green, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of George Thomas Hill and Mary Jane Barnes. He was the son of George Thomas Hill and Mary Jane Hill in the 1901 census in Lordshill, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.2 Edmund was a soldier arriving on 10 June 1919 in Southampton in England from Cape Town in South Africa on board Walmer Castle.3 He married Eleanor Ayot Maisey on 20 November 1919 in Emmanuel Church, Uxbridge, Middlesex, England, after the banns were read. The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas J Joons and Mary Maisey. Edmund was a tram conductor and lived at 49 Clement Street, Burdett Road in Poplar. His father George Thomas Hill was a wool merchant.      George Thomas Hill was born in 1855 in Havant, Hampshire, England.1,2 George deserted from the military on 29 May in 1876 in Stafford, he was serving with 2nd Stafford and regimental number 8450.3 He married Mary Jane Barnes in 1882 in Shamley Green, Surrey, England.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in Triangle Road, Haywards Heath, Sussex, England. George was a general labourer living with his wife and children, little Amelia was just 4 months old.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Lordshill, Shamley Green, Surrey, England. George was a chimney sweep living with his wife and children.6 He died in 1943 in The Shrubbery, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.7 He was buried on 29 May 1943 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, in plot L9.7

     Arthur was Clerk to the Parish of Wonershfor ten years until 1972, stepping in and taking over when Mr Standen was taken ill in April 1979.1 Arthur F Savage died circa 1980 after a shortillness in hospital. He left a widow and family.1

William was a domestic motor driver living with his wife and children.4 William held a driving licence from 29 January 1912, it was renewed on 29 January 1913 until 28 January 1914. It is believed he may have driven The Drew sisters who lived in the main house. William and his family lived in Blatchford stables.5 William served in the Royal Horse Artillery with a service number 87969 as a driver enlisting on 8 December 1914.6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register William was listed as living at Four Ways, Blackheath, Surrey, England, with his wife Elizabeth. William was a retired gardener.7 He died on 6 September 1951 in Four Ways, Blackheath, Surrey, England, at age 81.8 He was buried on 10 September 1951 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 326 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh.9 His estate was probated on 15 October 1951 in London to his son Sherlock Joslin Humphries a technical advisor.
