     Lucy Groves was baptised on 14 January 1797 in Godanstone, Dorset, England.2,3 She was the daughter of Richard Groves and Lucy Tanworth Ironside.1 She married Benjamin Ellis on 12 January 1826 in Wimborne Came, Dorset, England, after a licence had been issued, Benjamin was a batchelor from Christchurch, Bristol. The ceremony was witnessed by Joseph Groves and Sarah Groves.4 She died in 1840 in Town Street, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England.1,5 She was buried on 6 April 1840 in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England, with her daughter Harriet who was only 17 months old.6
