Her father Albert as deceased and Oswald's father Fred was a packing case maker.5,6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Gladys was listed as living at 34 Alexandra Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England with her husband Oswald. And their daughter Joyce.4 Her husband Oswald died on 18 February 1963 in 34 Alexandra Road, Heeley, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, aged 66.1,2,7 Gladys died on 10 January 1970 in 5 Barrett Road, Hawkhurst, Kent, England, aged 71.1,8,9 Gladys was buried on 16 January 1970 in Abbey Lane Cemetery, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, in consecrated ground, Grave Number 2667 Section C.1,10 Administration papers were issued with a will on 18 February 1970 in Brighton. In the census of 3 April 1881 in Bellfield House, Servants Training Institute, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as a trainee servant.4 She married Frederick Greathead, son of John Greathead and Ann Morley, on 12 March 1893 in Nether Chapel, Norfolk Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, Rosa lived at 4 Tapton House Road, Sheffield.5,6 In the census of 31 March 1901 she was listed as the wife of Fred Greathead.5,7 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 16 Staveley Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Frederick Greathead.8 Her husband Frederick died on 9 June 1928 in 16 Staveley Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, aged 63 he was a case maker.1,5,9,10,11 The Probate of his estate was received in Wakefield by Rosa his widow and his son Arnold a motor driver.10 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Rose was listed as living at 69 Thorpe House Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England and her son Arnold who was a clock repairer.2 Rose died on 16 February 1955 in 69 Thorpe House Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, aged 87.1,5,12,10 Rose was buried on 21 February 1955 in Abbey Lane Cemetery, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, in consecrated ground Grave number 9446, Section N.1,11 The will of Rose was proved on 7 June 1955 to her son Arnold a road services clerk in Wakefield. Her effects were valued at £438 19s 9d.10

     Arnold Greathead was born on 22 May 1903 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.2,3 He was the son of Frederick Greathead and Rose Wain Rayner. He was baptised on 21 June 1903 in St Paul, Norton Lees, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, his father was a box maker and the family lived at 86 Valley Road.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 16 Staveley Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Frederick Greathead Arnold was at school.5 Arnold's father died on 9 June 1929. the Probate of his estate was received in Wakefield by Rosa his widow and his son Arnold a motor driver.6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Arnold Greathead was listed as living at 69 Thorpe House Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England with his mother Arnold was a clock repairer.3 Her mother Rose died on 16 February 1955 aged 87.1,7,8,6 He died on 30 April 1963 on the way to Nether Edge Hospital, Sheffield. His usual address was in 69 Thorpe House Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, aged 59.9,6 Arnold was buried on 6 May 1963 in Abbey Lane Cemetery, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, in consecrated ground, Grave number 9446 Section M.1,10 Arnold did not leave a will. Leonard Greathead
     Leonard Greathead was born on 20 October 1894 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Frederick Greathead and Rose Wain Rayner. In the census of 31 March 1901 in 86 Valley Rd, Norton, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Fred Greathead.5,6 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 16 Staveley Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Frederick Greathead Leonard was a general apprenticed engineer.7 Leonard signed up for short service on 10 December 1915, he gave his address as 16 Staveley Road, Sheffield and his age as 21 years 2 months and his trade as engineer. He was five foot eight inches tall, weighed 126 lbs with a chest measurement of 33 inches and had a mole on his abdomen and on the index finger after the second joint was missing on his right hand . He gave his father as his next of kin living at the same address. He was demobilised on 16 February 1919.8 He married Annie Hague on 31 December 1925 in St Andrew's, Ann Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, Leonard was an engineer fitter, Annie was a pearl handle viewer. His father Fred was a case maker, and Annie's father George William was a builder.9,10 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Leonard was listed as living at 533 Chesterfield Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England with his wife Annie. And their children Shirley and Stuart. Leonard was a spade and edge tool works engineer.3 Leonard died on 10 November 1975 in Royal Hospital, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, aged 81 his usual address was 533 Chesterfield Road.11,12,13 Leonard was buried on 14 November 1975 in Abbey Lane Cemetery, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, in consecrated ground Grave number 9032, Section K.13 The will of Leonard was proved on 17 February 1976 in Sheffield.      Oliver Greathead was born on 14 July 1887 in Conisbrough, Yorkshire, England.3,2,4,5,6 He was the son of John Edward Greathead and Eliza Hancock. Oliver attended Conisbrough Morley Place Junior School from 28 May 1894 until 30 April 1907. The family lived in Church Street.7 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 237 Park Road, Conisbrough, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of John Edward Greathead.8 He married Clare Elsie Booth on 24 August 1910 in St Peter's, Conisbrough, Yorkshire, England.3,2,9,10,11 Oliver was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 63 Park Road, Conisbrough, Yorkshire, England, Oliver was a joiner to builders living with his wife in their six roomed home.12 Oliver signed up for short service in Dec 1915 giving his address as 31 Willow Dene, Conisbro. He was 28 years 4 months old. His height was five foot seven inches tall, he weighed 132 lbs, his chest measurement was 36 inches. Oliver gave his trade as a carpenter.13 Eliza Greathead died 21 October 1931. Probate was given in Wakefield on 18 November 1931 to her sons Oliver and John and her son in law Alfred Lowe. Oliver and John were joiners, Alfred was a retired licensed victualler.14 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Oliver was listed as living at 37 Willow Drive, Conisbrough, Yorkshire, England with his wife Clare. And their daughter Kathleen. Oliver was a master joiner and builder.5 He died on 13 July 1941 in 37 Low Road, Conisbrough, Yorkshire, England, aged 53 after six month illness.1,3,2,15,14 The will of Oliver was proved on 27 February 1942 in Wakefield to Clara Elsie Greathead his widow. His effects were valued as £632 2s 11d.14
