     Donald William Smith was born about 1877 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 He was the son of Donald William Stewart and Eliza Smith.1 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 15/2 Grafton Street, Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England, he was listed as the son of Donald William Stewart Donald was a scholar and seems to have taken on the surname of Stewart.2 His father Donald William Stewart died on 21 March 1890 aged 67.3,1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 15/2 Grafton Street, Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England, he was listed as the son of Eliza Stewart Donald as a messenger, delivering post.4 He married Catherine Brindle in 1900 in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England.1,5 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 13 Mornington Street, Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England, Donald and Catherine were lodging with Hugh and Maggie Parry and their daughter Ann.      Mary Stewart Stewart was born on 4 March 1895 in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England.1,2 She was the daughter of David Ogilvie Smith and Mary Ellen McGee.1 Her father David Ogilvie Smith died on 18 August 1935 aged 60.1,3 Mary lived in 1944 in Bremhill Road, Liverpool.1 Her mother Mary Ellen Stewart died on 22 September 1944.1,4 She died on 9 March 1977 aged 82.1

     Mary Ellen McGee was born about 1868.2 She married David Ogilvie Stewart, son of Donald William Stewart and Eliza Smith, on 4 December 1893 in All Saint's Church, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, Mary was of the Roman Catholic faith.1,3 Her husband David died on 18 August 1935 aged 60 David was killed at sea. His residence at the time was listed a Beaverbrook Road, Liverpool.1,4 She died on 22 September 1944 in 20 Bremhill Road, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, This was her daughter Mary's house.1,5
