As children in Fazely Street (around the corner from Gibb Street) then around Summer Lane (in the Aston area of Birmingham) and eventually in Conybere Street in the Highgate area of the city.1 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 61 Regent Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Henry Hughes Harry was an electro plate polisher living with his wife and children. His niece Harriet was boarding with the family in their three roomed home.2 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 6 Bk 11 Highgate Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Henry Hughes Violet was a work core lamp maker working for Rusell in New Spring Street.3 She married John Charles Bernard Fry in 1926.1
They lived in Highgate initially before moving to Swancote Road living opposite Violet's sister Amy.1 Violet died in 1996.1
