     Elliot James Wilfred Ely was born on 10 December 1894 in Ireland.1,2,3 He was the son of Thomas Ely and Mary Margaret Emily Hibbert. In the census of 31 March 1901 in 21 West Parade Mews, Scarborough, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Ely.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 2 Princess Royal Terrace, Scarborough, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Ely Elliott was a bank clerk in the London City Scotland bank.5 He married Elizabeth Musgrave Wilkinson, daughter of William Musgrave Wilkinson and Lily Grant Dawson, in 1922 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.1,6 His wife Elizabeth died on 1964 in Walton on Thames, Surrey, England.1,7 Elliot died in 1978 in Surrey, England.1,8

     Thomas William Musgrave Ely was born on 25 April 1924 in Bromley, Kent, England.1,2 He was the son of Elliot James Wilfred Ely and Elizabeth Musgrave Wilkinson. He married Joan McCann in 1948 in Surrey, England.1,3 Thomas died on 1 January 2004 aged 79.1

Maurice Hibbert Ely1

     Maurice Hibbert Ely was born on 18 April 1897 in Ireland.1,2,3 He was the son of Thomas Ely and Mary Margaret Emily Hibbert. In the census of 31 March 1901 in 21 West Parade Mews, Scarborough, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Ely.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 2 Princess Royal Terrace, Scarborough, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Ely Maurice was at school.5 Maurice was residing in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada, and working a a fruit farmer, when he enlisted in the 54th Battalion of the Canadian Army during World War I. His attestation paper stated he was five foot eight inches tall, with a 33 inch girth. He had fair complexion, blue eyes and fair hair.6 He married Dora Anne Tanner in 1918 in Ringwood, Hampshire, England.7 Maurice was planning to alight in Plymouth Sound when his station Commander ordered him to hand over the controls. Their Blackburn Iris III bit the water and 9/12 of those on board died, including the boss. Maurice survived and I am told was helped by Lawrence of Arabia.1 He was an RAF Officer. Maurice died in August 1984 in Reading, Berkshire, England, aged 87.1,8
