Chart 1 My Direct Family - Edward Greathead
     Ida Mary Greathead was born in 1908 in Auckland, Durham, England.2,3 She was the daughter of Thomas Greathead and Elizabeth Wilbert. In the census of 2 April 1911 in 3 Hackworth Street, New Shildon, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas Greathead.4 In 1917 when her brother Albert signed up inthe Navy as an aircraftsman she was listed as the next of kin and she lived in 3 Hackworth Street, New Shildon, Durham, England.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Ida was listed as living at 3 Cedar Road West, Bishop Auckland, Durham, England with her sister Edna Ida was listed as incapacitated, her sister and brother in law were presumably looking after her as her parents had died.6 Ida died in 1947 in Darlington, Durham, England.7

Chart 1 My Direct Family - Edward Greathead
     Edna Greathead was born on 22 July 1899 in Shildon, Durham, England.2,3 She was the daughter of Thomas Greathead and Elizabeth Wilbert. In the census of 31 March 1901 in 3 Hackworth Street, New Shildon, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas Greathead.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 3 Hackworth Street, New Shildon, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas Greathead.5 She married Edgar Norman Vasey in 1925 in Auckland, Durham, England.6,7 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Edna was listed as living at 3 Cedar Road West, Bishop Auckland, Durham, England with her husband Edgar. And their children and Edna's sister Ida. Edgard was a Baker Oven Manager and his sister in law was listed as incapacitated, they were presumably looking after her as her parents had died.8 Her husband Edgar died on 14 June 1957 in Darlington, Durham, England, his usual address was 131 Brinkburn Road, Darlington.9,10 Edna died in 1979 in Darlington, Durham, England.11

     Audrey Greathead was born on 13 December 1927 in Darlington, Durham, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Frederick Greathead and Sybil Maud Ranson. On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Audrey Greathead was listed as living at 91 Thornfield Road, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England with her father and brother.3 She died on 22 April 2003 in Charlton House, 55 Mannamead Road, Plymouth, Devon, England, aged 75 Audrey did not marry.4,5 Administration papers were issued with a will on 10 July 2003 her brother Lawrence Ranson Greathead in Bristol.5

     Laurence Ranson Greathead was born on 7 March 1923 in Heighington, Darlington, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of Frederick Greathead and Sybil Maud Ranson. He was a RAF pilot for four years (1939-1945 war) and then an Accountant in the Chemical Industry. On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Laurence Ranson Greathead was listed as living at 91 Thornfield Road, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England with his father and sister.3 He married Helen Patricia Dowson on 14 December 1954 in St Giles, Skelton, Yorkshire, England.1,4,5 Laurence died on 9 August 2012 in Plymouth, Devon, England, aged 89.6,7 The will of Laurence was proved on 21 December 2012 in Bristol.6
