In the census of 7 April 1861 in Tarrant Street, Arundel, Sussex, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Ord.2 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 11 Church Street, Bridgewater, Somerset, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Ord John was a butcher.3 Brothers John and Charles left Liverpool on 19 April 1890 bound for New York on the City of Rome.4 John died on 26 December 1917 in Oak Forest Infirmary, Bremen, Cook, Illinois, USA, John was a butcher.5 John was buried on 27 December 1917 in Arlington, Arlington, Virginia, USA.5 His estate was probated on 4 August 1920 in London Administration papers were issued to Mary Charlotte Petheram, wife of Albert James Petheram.
