     Elizabeth Carter was born about 1803 in Middleton Cheney, Northamptonshire, England.2 She was the daughter of John Carter.1 She married William Greathead, son of Thomas Greathead and Elizabeth Weaver, on 13 August 1846 in St Peter, Broome, Worcestershire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by James and Susan Carter. William was listed a Publican and his father Thomas a farmer. Elizabeth's father John was a gardener.2,3,1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Eve Hill, Dudley, Staffordshire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Greathead.4 Her husband William died on 1853 in Dudley, Staffordshire, England.5,6 She married Benjamin Roberts, son of Peter Roberts, on 10 October 1853 in St Philip, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read. Both were widowed. Benjamin was a blacksmith and lived in Gt Charles Street, and Elizabeth lived in Milk Street. The ceremony was witnessed by Susan Carter and James Carter.1,7
