Barnabus was working in the garden with his father.6 He married Emily M O Byrne in 1912 in Tonbridge, Kent, England.7 Barnabus left Bristol on board Royal George and arrived in Quebec on 11 September 1912. The manifest stated he worked as a gardener and was married.8 He died on 28 September 1916 Barnabus was Private 405201, 5th Company Canadian Machine Gun Corps.1 Barnabus is remembered on the Vimy Memorial in France.1 His name also appears on the Plaque in the chapel in St Johns Seminary.9

Albert James Lintott was born on 25 November 1875 in Hascombe, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of James Lintott.1 He married Alice Mary Butcher, daughter of Henry Butcher and Elizabeth Hill, on 10 June 1899 in St John the Evangelist, Farncombe, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by R Butcher and Annie Laura Lintott. Albert was a gardener like his father James Lintott. Both Albert and Alice gave their address as Farncombe. Alice said her father Henry Butcher was deceased I believe he did not die until 1924 when he was in Hambledon infirmary.3,4 Albert entered the service of Great Western Railway as a porter on Paddington Station in October 1899. His starting salary was 17/- increased on 3 October 1900 to 18/- and on 3 October 1901 to 19/-. He resigned on 2 October, presumably 1902.2 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 82 Goldborne Road, Kensington, London, England. Albert was a railway porter living with his wife and 7 month old Winifred.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Wharf Cottage, Elmbridge Road, Cranleigh, Surrey, England. Albert was a domestic gardener living with his wife, children and brother.6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Albert was listed as living at Lampar Cottages, Palmers Cross, Bramley, Surrey, England, with his wife Alice. Albert was a general labourer for the SCC.7 His wife Alice died in 1945 in Surrey, England.8 He died in 1946 in Surrey, England.9

The war grave inscription register refers to his next of kin being F J Butcher, Compton Manor Gardens, King's Somborne in Hampshire. I believe this to be his brother.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Frederick was listed as living at Rectory Cottage, Kingsclere, Hampshire, England, with his wife Beatrice. Frederick was a gardener.6

Allan Broadbridge was born on 4 March 1886 in Slindon, Sussex, England.1,2,3 He was the son of William Broadbridge and Anne O'Leary.1 He was the son of William Broadbridge and Anne Broadbridge in the 1891 census in 5 The Common, Slindon, Sussex, England.4 Allan enlisted into Royal Marine Artillery on 23 March 1903.3 He appeared in the 1911 census in Royal Marine Artillery Barracks and Infirmary, Eastney, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Allan was a Gunner.5 He died on 31 May 1916 at age 30 He was Gunner 10435 on HMS Indefatigable when she sunk during the Battle of Jutland, the largest naval battle of the war. Part of Vice-Admiral Sir David Beatty's Battlecruiser Fleet, she was hit several times in the first minutes of the "Run to the South", the opening phase of the battlecruiser action. Shells from the German battlecruiser Von der Tann caused an explosion ripping a hole in her hull, and a second explosion hurled large pieces of the ship 200 feet (60 m) in the air. Only two of the crew of 1,019 survived.6 Allan is remembered on The Portsmouth Naval Memorial.7

Percy is remembered with honour on the Thiepval Memorial.1

Henry Thomas Benedict Flavin was born in 1884 in Ashford, Kent, England.2 He was the son of Thomas Flavin and Catherine Lambert.1 He was the son of Thomas Flavin and Catherine Flavin in the 1901 census in 2 Robrey Villas, Ashford, Kent, England. Henry was a post office learner.3 He married Laura M Jones in 1911 in Ashford, Kent, England.4 He was the son of Thomas Flavin and Catherine Flavin in the 1911 census in 8 Sussex Avenue, Ashford, Kent, England. Henry was a sorting clerk and telegraphist.5 Henry enlisted on 30 October 1915 into 1st Signal Company Royal Engineers no 77240. He was a post office telegraph engineer.6 Henry was found drunk and incapable on 25 February 2016, he also broke a window in the White Lion Inn. He was admonished and told to pay for the damage.6 He was demobilised on 28 March 1919.6 He died on 30 March 1955 in 7 Barrow Hill Terrace, Ashford, Kent, England.7,8 His estate was probated on 16 May 1955 Administation papers were issued in London to his widow. His effects were valued at £1,167 2s 9d.8
