Arthur was an errand boy.5 Arthur enlisted on 3 August 1917 into Household Battalion. His father James was listed as his next of kin and lived n Diamond Cottages in Wonersh. He gave his address was Great Tangley Manor in Wonersh and was working as a footman for Hon Irvin Laughlin. He served with the British Expeditionary Force from 3 December 1917-30 March 1919. Returning home on 31 March 1919 and discharged on 12 April 1919.

His effects were valued at £215.12

Moses was a carter on the farm living with his wife and children.9 He witnessed the marriage of Thomas Rogers and Edith Avenell on 6 October 1906 in Holy Trinity, Bramley, Surrey, England.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Moorhouse Stream, Churt, Surrey, England. Moses was a farm carter living with his wife and three of their children and a grandson. Moses suggested that he had been married for 35 years and he and Naomi had four children, one of whom had died before 1911. He lists his son Alfred as married and a general labourer and at home. However Alfred is also listed with his wife and 2 children. Moses suggested that Alfred had been married eight years and had three children, all still alive. He also suggested Tom was a domestic gardener living with him but he had sailed for New York in February 1911.10 He died in 1938 in Surrey, England.11
