The ceremony was witnessed by William James Clyton and Walter Ernest Thomas Field. Alexander was a gardener from Wonersh and gave no details of his father.      Arthur James Blythman was born on 15 August 1895 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of James Blythman and Louisa Tanner.2 He was baptised on 29 September 1895 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 He was the son of James Blythman and Louisa Blythman in the 1901 census in Diamond Cottages, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.4 He was the son of James Blythman and Louisa Blythman in the 1911 census in Diamond Cottages, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Arthur was an errand boy.5 Arthur enlisted on 3 August 1917 into Household Battalion. His father James was listed as his next of kin and lived n Diamond Cottages in Wonersh. He gave his address was Great Tangley Manor in Wonersh and was working as a footman for Hon Irvin Laughlin. He served with the British Expeditionary Force from 3 December 1917-30 March 1919. Returning home on 31 March 1919 and discharged on 12 April 1919.
He had been wounded on 22 August 1918 in the head and back in the field and listed in the October 1918 Parish Magazine as wounded but recovering.6,7 James and Louisa were in 1926 liviing with their sons Arthur and Donald in Diamond Cottages, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England. He married Cissie Batstone on 17 April 1926 in St Nicholas, Compton, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Florence Holland and Donald Blythman. Arthur was a store keeper living at Manor Inn Cottage in Compton, his father James Blythman was a labourer. Cissie lived at Woodlands Park in Stoke D'Abernon. her father Henry James Batstone was deceaased and had been a pianoforte maker.8 In 1929 Arthur and Cissie lived in Harrow Cottages, Compton, Surrey, England.9 By1936 they were living in 7 Fowlers Croft, Compton, Surrey, England.9 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Arthur was listed as living at 7 Fowlers Croft, Compton, Surrey, England, with his wife Cissie. Arthur was a travelling lorry driver His mother in law Martha C Batstone was living with them.10 He died on 11 May 1964 in St Luke's Hospital, 10 Warren Road, Guildford, Surrey, England, at age 68 his usual address was 7 Spiceall in Compton.11,12 His estate was probated on 19 August 1964 Administration papers were issued to his widow Cissie. His effects were valued at £215.12

He was 5 foot 6 inchest tall with a chest measurement of 33 inches. He gave his occupation as a tree feller. He was demobbed on 31 March 1920 from Winchester.6 He married Florence Ada Farley on 12 September 1925 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. Moses was a carter on the farm living with his wife and children.9 He witnessed the marriage of Thomas Rogers and Edith Avenell on 6 October 1906 in Holy Trinity, Bramley, Surrey, England.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Moorhouse Stream, Churt, Surrey, England. Moses was a farm carter living with his wife and three of their children and a grandson. Moses suggested that he had been married for 35 years and he and Naomi had four children, one of whom had died before 1911. He lists his son Alfred as married and a general labourer and at home. However Alfred is also listed with his wife and 2 children. Moses suggested that Alfred had been married eight years and had three children, all still alive. He also suggested Tom was a domestic gardener living with him but he had sailed for New York in February 1911.10 He died in 1938 in Surrey, England.11
