Daniel Pullen was born on 19 August 1880 in Tillington, Sussex, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Daniel Pullen and Ellen Peters.1 He was the son of Daniel Pullen and Ellen Pullen in the 1891 census in 4 Diamond Cottages, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.4 Daniel enlisted into the Royal Nav Air Services with a service number F16889 on 19 June 1916 for the hostilities. He was 5 foot 8½ inches igh, 34½ inches chest , brown hair, blue eyes and a fresh complexion. He served on President II until 31 March 1918.3 He received the probate of the estate of Ellen Pullen on 30 May 1941 In Llandudno to her son Daniel a carpenter and spinster daughter Elizabeth. Her effects were valued at £655 1s 6d.5 He died in 1953 in Surrey, England.6

The ceremony was witnessed by Edward Avenall who signed by his mark and another. James is written as James Bly was a labourer, his father John was also a labourer. Elizabeth's father Henry Edwards was a labourer. Both James and Elizabeth signed with their marks so would not have realised the mistake in James name.1,2,3 He was listed as head of household in the 1871 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England. James was a gardener living with his wife young daughter of 5 months and his mother in law.4 He died circa 1876 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 He was buried on 10 June 1876 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.5
