     Martha Weaver was born about 1863 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.1 She married John Gallear, son of John Gallear and Abigail Brown, in 1884 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.2 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 57 Oxford Street, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, she was listed as the wife of John Gallear John and Martha and their three young children are staying as lodgers of Martha's widowed father Isaiah Weaver and four of her siblings, Ann, Frances, Joseph and Jane. John is listed as a sheet iron worker.3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 2 Gaskell Street, Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales, she was listed as the wife of John Gallear.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 10 Milner Street, Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales, she was listed as the wife of John Gallear.5 Her son John Gallear died on 27 September 1916 he was a Lance Corporal in 6th Battallion Yorkshire Regiment Number 11241. He had enlisted in Middlesborough John and Martha were living at 14 Portskeweyy Street, Newport at the time.6 Her husband John died on 1926 in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales.7 Martha died in 1934 in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales.8

     John Gallear was born in 1885 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.1,2 He was the son of John Gallear and Martha Weaver. In the census of 5 April 1891 in 57 Oxford Street, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, he was listed as the son of John Gallear. John and Martha and their three young children are staying as lodgers of Martha's widowed father Isaiah Weaver and four of her siblings, Ann, Frances, Joseph and Jane. John is listed as a sheet iron worker.3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 2 Gaskell Street, Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales, he was listed as the son of John Gallear.4 He married Sarah Ann Cotterill in 1904 in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales.5 John was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 50 Enfield Road, Ellsmere Port, Cheshire, England, John was a Mill Roller living with his wife and two young children in their three roomed home. Sarah's brother Harry, was lodging with them.6 He died on 27 September 1916 he was a Lance Corporal in 6th Battallion Yorkshire Regiment Number 11241. He had enlisted in Middlesborough.7 John was buried in Thiepval Memorial, Somme, Picardy, France, his name appears on Pier and Face 3A and 3D.7
