The ceremony was witnessed by Sidney Herbert John Clee, Beatrice E Clee and Mary Ellen Adams. Frederick was an engineer and his father George Clee was a storeman. Annie's father William Durant was a gardener.5,6 She died on 9 April 1969 in Hendon, London, England, at age 71.7

     Charles Stemp was born in 1860 in Cranleigh, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Charles Stemp.2 He married Sarah Durant, daughter of William Jackman and Eliza Avenell, on 25 October 1884 in St Andrew, Grafham, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Mary Ann Durrant and George Steven who signed with his mark. Charles was a labourer like his father also alled Charles. Sarah gave her father's name as William Durrant, a labourer.3,4 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in Palmers Cross, Bramley, Surrey, England. Charles was an agricultural labourer living with his wife and three children.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Rooks Hill, Bramley, Surrey, England. Charles was a jobbing labourer living with his wife and six of their children with two nephews, Fielder and Arthur. Little Evelyn was only 2 months old.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Rooks Hill, Bramley, Surrey, England.
