Frederick was a general labourer.4 He died on 22 September 1916 He was a Gunner with 18th Seiger Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Army no. 49893 and was killed in action his battery was equipped with 2 x 12 inch railway guns.5 He is also remembered on Grafham War Memorial.5 He was buried in Peronne Road Cemetery, Maricourt, France, in grave I D 41.5
