David was sent to Wandsworth Prison for 14 days for stealing a chain worth 2/- on 20 November. He was apprehended on 22 November. He was descibed as 5 foot 4 inches tall with brown eyes, dark grey hair and a fresh complexion. He has ==d a scar on his forehead and left cheek.2 He married Martha Lily Edwards, daughter of George Edwards and Ellen Edwards, on 22 August 1885 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read.
