     Albert Lemon was born in 1880 in Albury, Surrey, England.1 He married Mabel Gertrude Vincent, daughter of William Vincent and Mary Ann Hutt, on 2 October 1909 in St Peter and St Paul, Albury, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Charles Vincent and Julia Vincent. Albert was a labourer like his father William. Mabel's father William was a Gardener.2,3,4 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 3 Hunts Cottage, New Road, Chilworth, Surrey, England. Albert was a Gravel Digger living with his wife, son and father in law.5 Albert enlisted into the 3rd Buffs East Kent Regiment on 15 December 1915 in Guildford. He was Private No 25832 and signed on giving his occupation as a cordite worker and living at 3 Hunts Cottages, New Road in Chilworth. He was 5 foot 3½ inches tall with a chest measurement of 35 inches.6 He died in 1961 in Surrey, England.7

He was the son of Albert Lemon and Mabel Gertrude Vincent in the 1911 census in 3 Hunts Cottage, New Road, Chilworth, Surrey, England.2 He married Dorothy Watson on 29 May 1937 in St Mary, Byfleet, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by May Gertrude Lemon and George Henry Watson. William was a butcher living at 65 New Road in Chilworth. His father Albert Lemon was a builder. Dorothy lived at Santoy, Oyster Lane in Byfleet, her father George Trevor Watson was a Gardener.3 He died in July 1994 in Surrey, England, at age 83.4

     Louise Philomene Houtin was born on 25 May 1879 in Alencon, France, her parents were Francois Auguste and Modeste Francoise Houtin.1 Louise was a single retired hospital nurse when she applied for her certificate of Naturalisation under the British Nationality and Status of Aliens Act 1914. She signed her oath of alliegence on 20 February 1948. It was witnessed by Anthony B Harvie 158 High Street, Herne Bay in Kent. She gave her address as 2 Barnet Villas, Barnett Lane in Wonersh, Surrey.1

     James Punter was born circa 1805 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 James was attested for 51 Regiment of Infantry in Guildford on 7 January 1831 as Private 741. He was five foot six inches tall, his hair was black, eyes blue, fresh complexion and he was a labourer.1 He was discharged through disibility and length of service after 27 years on 31 January 1852, he had served 12 years 9 months abroad. Seven years seven months of them on Van Diemens Land and five years two months in the East Indies. He had sailed to New South Wales on 23 April 1839 returning on 31 January 1852. He was described as old, worn out soldier, no longer fit for active duty. Suffering from Dispression and Chronic Rheumatism.1

Her effects were valued at £30,000 and resworn in October 1876 as under £20,000.3

He married Agnes Maud Ricketts, daughter of Samuel James Ricketts and Jemima Moody, on 19 April 1913 in St Peter, Ash, Surrey, England, after the banns had beed read. The ceremony was witnessed by John James Ricketts and Arthur Paice. Frederick was a Gardener from Winchester and his father Henry a bricklayer. Agnes' father Samuel was a Market Gardener.1 Frederick enlisted as Private 147172 in the RAMC on 10 December 1916.2 He was listed as being 5 foot 63/8 inches tall, having a chest measurement of 35 inches, and gave his wife as his next of kin living in Vine Place in Ash, and listed his three children on his army papers.2
