He was Private No 25832 and signed on giving his occupation as a cordite worker and living at 3 Hunts Cottages, New Road in Chilworth. He was 5 foot 3½ inches tall with a chest measurement of 35 inches.6 He died in 1961 in Surrey, England.7

Dorothy lived at Santoy, Oyster Lane in Byfleet, her father George Trevor Watson was a Gardener.3 He died in July 1994 in Surrey, England, at age 83.4

She signed her oath of alliegence on 20 February 1948. It was witnessed by Anthony B Harvie 158 High Street, Herne Bay in Kent. She gave her address as 2 Barnet Villas, Barnett Lane in Wonersh, Surrey.1

James Punter was born circa 1805 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 James was attested for 51 Regiment of Infantry in Guildford on 7 January 1831 as Private 741. He was five foot six inches tall, his hair was black, eyes blue, fresh complexion and he was a labourer.1 He was discharged through disibility and length of service after 27 years on 31 January 1852, he had served 12 years 9 months abroad. Seven years seven months of them on Van Diemens Land and five years two months in the East Indies. He had sailed to New South Wales on 23 April 1839 returning on 31 January 1852. He was described as old, worn out soldier, no longer fit for active duty. Suffering from Dispression and Chronic Rheumatism.1
