     James Cannings married Ellen Catherine Baker, daughter of William Langrish, on 2 August 1919 in St Andrews, Cobham, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. She married William James Baker, son of James Baker and Grace Alice Pennygar, on 20 July 1918 in St Martin with St Stephen, Epsom, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Charles Edwards and Ada Clara Edwards. William was a soldier living in Rauceby, Sleaford. His father James Baker was a baker . Ellen was in domestic service living in 44 Hook Road. Her father Charles Edwards was a carpenter.1

     James Croucher was born on 6 October 1871 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. He was the son of Charles Croucher. He was the son of Charles Croucher and Sarah Frances Croucher in the 1881 census in Crown Street, Portsea, Hampshire, England.1 He married Emma Ada Friend in 1894 in Portsea, Hampshire, England.2 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 176 Clive Road, Portsea, Hampshire, England. James ws a Stoker 1st Class in the Royal Navy living with his wife and two children.3 His wife Emma died in 1905 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 13 Omega Street, Southsea, Hampshire, England. James was a Petty Officer Stoker living with his sister Tresa Evans, a married lady acting as housekeeper and his three children.5 He died on 31 March 1917 at age 45 James was a Stoker Petty Officer in the Royal Navy on HMS Imperieuse.6 He was buried in Lyness, Royal Naval Cemetery, Isle of Hoy, Orkney.

Dorothy was a dressmakers apprentice.3 She married William Thomas Parker on 28 August 1918 in St Marys, Sholing, Southampton, Hampshire, England.4,5 There was a message in a newspaper in 1948 saying: If Mrs Dorothy Ada Parker (formerly Croucher), who married William Thomas Parker at Scholing Parish Church, Southampton on 28 August 1918, will communicate with Messrs. Edmonds and Bullin solicitors Prudential Buildings Portsmouth. Hoping she will hear somethng to her advantage.4
