Ralph Ironside was baptised on 28 March 1737 in Long Bredy, Dorset, England, his parents were listed as Ralph and Agnes.1,2 He was the son of Ralph Ironside and Agnes Goodwin.3 He married Lucy Tanworth Ralph was from the Parish of Bramley. They were married by Richard Southgate the curate of St Giles in the Fields in Camden on 7 February after a licence had been issued on the same day. The ceremony was witnessed by Samuel Forde and Jos Geo Holman.4,5,6 The entry in the marriage register for Abbotsbury Church states Banns of Marriage between Ralph Ironside and Lucy Tanworth were legally published: No one forbidding them. And the said Ralph Ironside of the Parish of Bramley in Surrey but of late sojourner here batchelor and Lucy Tanworth sojourner in this Parish Spinster were married in this church by banns this twenty eighth day of August in the year one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine by me Jas Harris Minister. Both Ralph and Lucy signed the register in the presence of John Bailey and Jn Cartchell? A further entry was written in the church marriage book. Why a second marriage?2 His wife Lucy died on 1 December 1777 in Long Bredy, Dorset, England.3 He married Jane Hallett on 30 April 1787 in Little Cheney, Dorset, England, after banns had been read on 8, 15 and 22 April. The ceremony was performed by Goe Frome the curate. Ralph signed and Jane made her mark. It was witnessed by Ann Fry and Robert Trufzaire. Ralph was from the Parish of Wonersh and Jane was from the Parish of Little Cheney.2 His wife Jane died in 1823 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.7 He died on 24 October 1825 in Shamley Green, Surrey, England, at age 88.7 He was buried on 31 October 1825 in Wonersh Churchyard, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 180. Ralph was also mentioned on the gravestone of his first wife Lucy.7,3

Mary Louisa Ironside was born on 26 May 1887 in Bramley, Surrey, England, Her baptism record suggests she was born in June although the 1939 Register states she was born in May as does her death record.1 She was the daughter of Henry Wakeford Ironside and Jane Brockwell. She was baptised on 10 July 1887 in Holy Trinity, Bramley, Surrey, England, her father was a carpenter and the family lived on the Horsham Road in Bramley.1 She was the daughter of Henry Wakeford Ironside and Jane Ironside in the 1891 census Birtley Road, Bramley, Surrey, England.2 She appeared in the 1901 census in 79 Hove Villas, Hove, Sussex, England. Sisters Annie and Mary were servants to Ellen Richardson. Louise was a housemaid and Anna a domestic general servant.3 She appeared in the 1911 census in Vale End, Hunter Road, Guildford, Surrey, England. Sister Annie and Mary were servants to Martha Lloyd. Annie was a cook and Mary was a house parlourmaid.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Annie was listed as living at 27 Irwin Road, Guildford, Surrey, England, with his wife Edith. Siblings were living together. Annie was the Manageress of a cafe, Mary was a housekeeper, Henry was a boot repairer and Edith was a shop assistant. All were single except Henry who was a widower.5 She died on 4 January 1977 in 27 Irwin Road, Guildford, Surrey, England, at age 89.6,7 Her estate was probated on 18 February 1977 in Winchester her effects were valued at £17,412.7

Elizabeth Sparkes was born circa 1765. She married Henry Wakeford, son of Henry Wakeford and Jane Weal, on 14 November 1792 in St Martha's Church, Chilworth, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read.
