     Edward Parsons was born in 1852 in Dunsfold, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Thomas Parsons and Elizabeth White. He was a brother of George Parsons and Mary Parsons in the 1871 census in Tickners Heath, Alfold, Surrey, England. Edward was a labourer. George and Edward's parents and siblings were two doors away.2 He married Harriet Batchelor on 22 April 1876 in St Mary and All Saints, Dunsfold, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by John Batchelor and Mary Batchelor. Edward was a labourer like his father Thomas Parsons. Harriett's father William Batchelor was also a labourer.3,4 His wife Harriet died in 1879 in Hambledon, Surrey, England.5 He was the son of Thomas Parsons and Sarah Parsons in the 1881 census in Tickners Heath, Alfold, Surrey, England. Edward was an agricultural labourer.6 Edward appears to have been admitted to Brookwood Asylum on 25 May 1883. He was listed as a widower with an occupation of brickmaker from Stroud Common in Shamley Green. He was signed in by P Ricardo a JP and C Ede suffering from Mania. He was dischaarged from the hospital on 7 September.7,8 He died on 21 September 1883 in Sydenhurst coppice, Alfold, Surrey, England, he was found face down in the mud with an open razor by his side, although it did not appear that he had used it. It was assumed he died by supposed suicide.9,8 He was buried on 22 September 1883 in St Mary and All Saints, Dunsfold, Surrey, England.10
