Challoner was an agricutural labourer.2 He was the son of Frederick Mills and Harriet Mills in the 1881 census in Lords Hill Common, Shamley Green, Surrey, England. Challender was a labourer.3 He married Kate Mercer on 1 March 1886 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Edward Lucas and Rose Shetcher. Challender was a carpenter and his father Frederick was a gardener. Kate's father James Mercer was a bricklayer. Both Challender and Kate gave their address as Gosden Common, Shalford.4 He died in 1936 in Surrey, England.5
