Leslie was a carpenter.² It is understood that around 1951 Leslie took off and abandoned his wife and sons.³

     Arthur William Randell married Mary Elizabeth Monk, daughter of John Monk and Mary Elizabeth Punter, on 12 May 1923 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by May Dorothy Buckman and William John Monk. Arthur was a railway porter from Ewhurst, his father Arthur William Randell was a labourer.
