Frederick William Toynbee was born on 8 September 1890 in

3 Frederick arrived in Quebec in Canada on board Ascania from Southampton. He was listed as a baker.
4 Frederick enlisted on 25 July 1917 into the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force. He was born in Brighton but gave his address as 5 Main Street, West Hill, St Catherines, Ontario in Canada he was a cook and carpenter and gave his next of kin as Mabel Edith Toynbee. he was five foot five inches tall, a chest of 35 inches, with a medium complexion, dark ble eyes, dark brown hair but with teeth requiring attention.
2 Frederick arrived on 25 May 1956 from Montreal on board RMS Ivernia. He gave his address as 18 Hanover Street in Brighton he was listed as retired.

Hugh Stanley Toynbee was born in 1897 in

Elizabeth Bell Dobson. Hugh enlisted on 5 July 1915 for the duration of the war into Army Service Corps his number was SS/2953. He was 5 foot 9 inches tall, with a chest measurement of 35 inches. His father William Frederick Toynbee lived at 45 Greenleaf Road, Walthamstow.
1 Hugh joined in Aldershot and failed his medical so was discharged on 8 July 1915.
